Ginebra confesses to Elvira that she has an interest in Esteban; she cannot believe that the man she detests so much has fallen in love with her two daughters. Elvira gathers the whole family to confess that Ginebra is the daughter she had years ago, but that her father snatched her from her arms. Paz is willing to end Fermín's life if she proves that she was able to sell her own daughter. Paz takes advantage of the fact that she is alone with Fermín to confront him about the possibility that she has sold her daughter to get out of her debts.
